My Top 3 Edits for AI Content
Jul 21, 2025
Even when ChatGPT knows your voice, the content it spits out isn’t quite done.
It might sound pretty good.
It might be grammatically perfect.
You might think it’s better than anything you’d come up with yourself.
But there’s usually at least a little something about it that feels off.
If you can feel it, your clients can too.
In my programs, I teach wellness practitioners to create consistent content that calls in their dream clients—in a way that feels energizing instead of draining.
It's fully possible with a bit of AI assistance.
But it doesn’t mean you can just prompt → paste → and post.
People can sniff that out a mile away.
That’s why I always make these 3 quick edits to every single ChatGPT draft I touch.
Once you see them, you won’t be able to unsee them š

Edit 1: Delete the “negative anchors”
For the record, I made up that term.
I never learned about “negative anchors” in any writing class I ever took.
But it is 100% something ChatGPT does that is annoying.
Here’s what I mean:
ChatGPT loves this sentence structure:
“It’s not about ____. It’s about ____.”
“You’re not ____. You just ____.”
“This isn’t ____. This is ____.”
For example:
“It’s not about pushing harder. It’s about listening deeper.”
Used occasionally, it can land nicely.
But when ChatGPT does it on repeat?
It starts sounding…well…like ChatGPT.
The Fix:
Just delete the part that contains the word "not."
Seriously.
Nine times out of ten, the second half of the sentence is all you need.
So instead of this:
“It’s not about pushing harder. It’s about listening deeper.”
Try this:
“It’s about listening deeper.”
It sounds more direct and feels more real.
Edit 2: Replace the em dashes
I actually love a good em dash.
For example:
“You’ve tried cutting sugar and taking supplements—but nothing’s made a lasting difference.”
Historically, it adds personality and a natural rhythm to your writing.
But that was before ChatGPT made it the most overused punctuation on the internet.
The Fix:
Mix it up.
Try swapping the em dash for a period, comma, or parentheses.
Or delete the second half of the sentence entirely if it doesn’t add anything.
So instead of this:
“You’ve tried cutting sugar and taking supplements—but nothing’s made a lasting difference.”
Try this:
“You’ve tried cutting sugar and taking supplements. But nothing’s made a lasting difference.”
Or
“You’ve tried cutting sugar and taking supplements (but nothing’s really stuck).”
Or even
“You’ve tried cutting sugar and taking supplements.”
Any of these make your content feel smoother and more natural to read.
Edit 3: Trim the list of three
ChatGPT is obsessed with the rule of three.
For example:
“You need a plan that supports your hormones, your lifestyle, and your real life.”
It’s not wrong, but it feels formulaic fast.
Three-item lists show up in almost every piece of AI-generated content, and when your posts are full of “this, that, and the other thing,” the message gets diluted.
The Fix:
Delete one.
Just pick one item and cut it.
So instead of this:
“You need a plan that supports your hormones, your lifestyle, and your real life.”
Try this:
“You need a plan that supports your hormones and your lifestyle.”
You don’t have to cut every list of three. Just make sure it’s not an obvious pattern in your content.
One Last Thing…
If there’s only one way you edit your ChatGPT content, make it this:
Delete stuff.
ChatGPT almost always writes too much.
It’s wordy.
It’s repetitive.
So trust your instincts and get real comfy with that delete button.
Nobody will ever know what gorgeous string of words they’re missing.
