4 Easy Ways to Make Your Content More Personal

If you're a solo practitioner or the owner of a small clinic, you are the name and the face of your practice.

And that means you're building a personal brand, whether you realize it (or like it) or not.

Your future clients will grow to trust you because of how you show up.

Not because of your logo.

Not because of a stock photo.

But because of the beautiful human being that you are.

And yet...I still see so many wellness practitioners hiding behind generic graphics, faceless “how to” content, or trying to sound bigger by saying “we” when it’s really just you.

No judgment.

I get it.

It can feel intimidating to put yourself out there.

To be the face.

To tell the stories.

To create content that feels personal.

But it doesn’t have to be so hard or so vulnerable.

In this post, I’m sharing four of the easiest ways to bring more of YOU into your content.

Ways you can ease into comfortably—without giving yourself a vulnerability hangover.

Shall we?

1. Show Your Face

This one is simple.

The easiest way to make your content more personal is to let people see you.

You don’t need full talking-head reels (unless you want to).

You don’t need professional photoshoots or perfect lighting.

You just need a few selfies or short video clips with you in the frame.

Here are a few ideas to start with:

  • Post a quick selfie in your stories with a caption about your day
  • Record a short video answering a common client question
  • Film a short b-roll of you setting up your workspace or working out
  • Share any photo of yourself with a personal insight or lesson in the caption

People connect with faces.

It builds trust, stops the scroll, and reminds your audience that you’re a real person who cares.

2. Start with a Storytelling Hook

I’ve never been a natural storyteller.

I can’t just rattle off something interesting on the fly.

But guess what?

Even without that natural ability, it’s super easy to make your content more engaging by simply starting with a storytelling hook.

The rest of the content can flow from there.

In other words…

Instead of jumping straight into teaching, lead with a relatable moment.

A thought.

A feeling.

A client question.

A personal experience.

It could sound like:

  • “My client was shocked when I told her this tip...”
  • “The other day, my client asked me…”
  • “I can’t believe I’m saying this, but…”
  • “I recently decided to…”

When you use storytelling hooks, people are inherently drawn in.

They’ll read more.

And that’s where the magic happens.

3. Share a Glimpse Behind the Scenes

Behind-the-scenes content helps your audience feel connected to you as a real person instead of just a practitioner in a white coat.

It doesn’t have to be deep or dramatic.

Just a little window into your day-to-day.

Here are a few easy ways to do it:

  • Snap a photo of your messy desk between clients
  • Share what’s on your lunch plate today
  • Record a quick video of how you prep for sessions
  • Post a peek at the notes you’re jotting down after a breakthrough with a patient (HIPAA-compliantly, of course)

This kind of content says:

“I’m human. I live this work.”

And that builds connection.

4. Educate From Experience

If you’re feeling stuck on how to make your content more personal, this is your easiest in.

When you sit down to create an educational post…

Teach from your experience.

From your client sessions.

From your own healing journey.

From what you’ve seen, learned, or come to believe.

When you say things like:

  • “Here’s what I’ve noticed after working with dozens of patients on hormone health…”
  • “In my own journey with anxiety, one thing that made a huge difference was…”
  • “Something I see all the time in practice is…”

You’re still educating, but you’re doing it through your lens.

Your voice.

Your lived wisdom.

And that changes everything.

Information is everywhere.

But it’s you that makes it different.

You Are Your Brand

You may not be an influencer, but you are the face and voice of your brand.

And your clients (and future clients) want to connect with that.

So, try one of these four ideas this week.

Because the more personal your content becomes, the more powerful and magnetic it gets.
